Cows Wearing Girdles

This evening as we drove along, I said to Phil "We just passed cows wearing girdles; turn around!" Phil knows me so well that he never said a word as he headed back. And sure enough, there they were. Had they grazed a bit too much and their owner had to inflict some weight control? Well actually, these are known as Oreo Cows. They are Belted Galloway cows from Scotland, and are beef cows, with a double layer of hair. Who knew? Next post I will show you what we saw on our way back home.

“But you will enjoy a blessed life, planting well-watered fields and gardens, with your farm animals grazing freely.”

They are pretty girls, I'm glad you spotted them Ginny. Looks like their owner didn't make the girdles too tight. LOL!

This is the first time I've seen this type of cow, and I have visited Scotland, however, they are nice to look at.

Do you know what passage in the Bible this reminds me of? Genesis 30:37 onwards, about Jacob and his flock - of goats, not cows, but still... I never heard a good explanation of that!!!
