Clean Water Mural

This is a mural for clean water that we found in downtown Charlottesville. I do not know who or what company made it. But I like it. And of course there were wires in front of it, darn the luck! I think my favorite thing about it is the little squirrel driving the tractor. I also love the colors, so vibrant.

“Listen—the fish in the ocean will tell you their stories. Isn’t it clear that they all know and agree that God is sovereign, that he holds all things in his hand— Every living soul, yes, every breathing creature?”

Fourth Of July House

There is a house in this area, and they really decorate for the Fourth Of July holiday! It is amazing, all the things they have in their yard and on their house! I have to wonder if they have many children or grandchildren, and it's for them. So, here is the house and it's decorations!

Flip-Flop Wreath

While we were driving through the neighborhood, I spotted this front door with a flip-flop wreath on it. Nothing says SUMMER better than flip-flops!

“God said, “Don’t come any closer. Remove your sandals from your feet. You’re standing on holy ground.”

An Italian Beauty!

I was shopping the other day when I saw this plant. I was delighted, because I had never seen this before, and it looked so unusual. It is Italian Heather! The blooms are like long, thin pockets. One legend says that white heather only grows on the burial grounds of fairies. Long heather branches were used to make brooms. I wonder if this is the broom bush referred to in the following bible verse?

“Then he lay down and slept beneath the broom bush. But as he was sleeping, an Angel touched him and told him to get up and eat!”

Free House

Apparently, if we buy a house, we get another one free! Hmmm...very suspicious! My friend thinks it may be a doll house, I think it may be an outhouse. Any ideas? I'm so curious that I may call them up and ask!

We’ve been given a glimpse of the real thing, our true home, our resurrection bodies! The Spirit of God whets our appetite by giving us a taste of what’s ahead. He puts a little of heaven in our hearts so that we’ll never settle for less. ...”

The Baby Swans

We went to the duck pond to see if the baby swans (Cygnets) had hatched. We were a little late this year, as the babies were about half grown!

When swans are first born, they do not have long necks. Their necks get longer very slowly as they grow. This baby was doing some exercise! He was the only one not following mom everywhere. He wanted to do his own thing.

These fish were swimming below, and eating up all the food!

Summer Solstice Moon

I looked up in the sky, and saw this. I had forgotten that this is the Summer Solstice, the first day of summer!

It was just rising and peeping over the trees

It's unusual to have a full moon on the first day of summer. In fact, I don't think there has been one in 70 years. This June moon is called The Strawberry moon, for obvious reasons.

He makes the moon wax and wane, putting it through its phases. He draws the horizon out over the ocean, sets a boundary between light and darkness.”

Three Celebrations In One!

This evening,we celebrated Phil's birthday,a granddaughter's birthday, and Father's Day! I had bought a balloon for each girl.

One present I gave was a princess watch that lights up!

They could each choose a cupcake, and were surprised that the frosting turned their tongues colors.

Our son has grown a beard for just awhile! I like it, but his wife does not!

Here I am with two generations of great dads!

And here are Phil & I with all the girls!

Lady Tire Frog

We were driving down the road earlier this week, and saw this in someone's front yard. They had made a lady frog from five old tires! I fell in love with her long lashes and red mouth. Surely she will attract a boy tire frog soon!

“Aaron stretched his staff over the waters of Egypt and a mob of frogs came up and covered the country.”

The Real Me

Which is the real me? Well, of course the real me is the last picture, standing by my husband and son. You see, I got this awesome new app called "Super Photo". And I just had to play with it. So these are some of the me's that I made! I will not be visiting or posting on Friday. I am going to the hospital for some tests, then the family is coming over to celebrate Phil's birthday. So I will have a busy day. I will post pictures of the day when I return on the weekend. Happy Friday!
