The Cabinets

Kitchen cabinets, that is. Like the old Hoosier ones. They used to even have flour mills, meat grinders, fold down ironing boards, and sliding out work surfaces. I came across these in an antique mall. I have always wanted one, but all of my kitchens have been too small. Do you have or want one? The real Hoosiers were mostly made in Indiana, and are hard to find now.

“God takes particular pleasure in acts of worship—a different kind of “sacrifice”—that take place in kitchen and workplace and on the streets.”
Hebrews 13

i love all of these and would be happy with anyone at all. the one with the porcelain counter, trimmed in red, mother had one similar to it. the bottom was exactly like it but the top was different. my favorite is the one in header. would love to have that but no where to put it. i have always wanted and old frame cracker house with a kitchen like these would have been in. but i do want running hot water in that kitchen

I would love to have one of these. Like you, my kitchen is too small though and I would have nowhere to put it.

I just love old antiques and think this would be so much fun to have but I sure don't have any where at all to put it. I have to admit I really like all my modern conveniences.
I like the surfaces that clean up more easiely than the wood.

These are fun to look at and reminisce about, but I don't think I would want them in my house. I guess I spent the first years of my marriage living very poorly and so I now enjoy the more modern looks.

I love these! When I was very young and new married, we rented a two room furnished apartment. The kitchen had an old cabinet in it with the all the built ins and tip out drawers. Mrs. Morrison was my landlady and rent was $15 a week. She was 63 when I met her and she meant so much to me and all four of my children. She lived another 31 years after I met her and was such a blessing.
