Goodbye To Fall

To me, Thanksgiving is the end of fall. There are two kind of calendars: astronomical and meteorological. Meteorological divides each season evenly into three months. This makes December 1st winter. So here is my goodbye to fall.

“Every blade in the field, every leaf in the forest, lays down its life in its season, as beautifully as it was taken up.”
~Henry David Thoreau

So pretty. I didn't see much fall color this year. Maybe if I had driven around I would have spotted more but it seemed that it went from green to leafless trees very quickly here.

I always think of the Christmas season in winter time...so fall ends on December 1 for me as well. Every other season I think of as astrological which may explain why winter seems so long.

Loved reading your quote for the day...and enjoyed the colors of fall. That TAIL in the 1st picture is like it's waving good-bye also!
