Ice On The Blue Ridge Mountains

After the power came back on, we drove over the mountains to get groceries.  The sun was out and the roads were dry, but there was still ice. Here is our trip across the Blue Ridge Mountains.

“Fire and hail, snow and ice, hurricanes obeying his orders; Mountains and all hills, apple orchards and cedar forests…”
Psalm 148

Stunning photos Ginny! I remember ice storms in days past, especially driving. Magical winter wonderland but can be treacherous to drive in. Glad you were okay.

Stunning photos Ginny. So far really mild here, unusually so. Hope we don't get the white stuff.

I have NEVER seen ice like this, the most I have seen is a frozen birdbath, when we lived in KY we had snow but nothing like this.... your photos are stunning and scary and glad you are safe home posting this icy story

Such destructive storm...but the silver sceneries are simply so beautiful! Glad sun was out. I hope all the ice on roads will melt away quickly.

It looks so pretty. Too bad it causes so much destruction.
