This evening the sky had a rosy glow at the horizon as the sun set.
“The sky blushed rose
at close of day,
A quiet flame that slipped away.”
“Chimney swifts
stitch the sky with invisible thread—never landing, always weaving the wind
into motion.”

Our next-door neighbor, only several feet away, has a new patch growing. It is right outside our back door. Do you know what it is?
Here are some blooms as a hint.
“In a corner of the
field, a tiny pumpkin patch grows—quietly magical, stubbornly joyful, and just
big enough to hold a dream.”
Welcome to Boot Barn! Have you ever heard of it? One just opened here. They sell boots and all kinds of country and western gear. Clothes, jewelry, etc.
LOTS of cowboy hats!
Before she returned to college, we took Anne Marie there to shop for her first pair of boots! Here she is among the hundreds of pairs.
They had interesting decor.
Antler chandeliers.
And wooden logs everywhere!
And the boots!
Glitter boots!
Patriotic boots.
Boots for tiny toddlers.
Phil sat nearby and patiently waited.
And finally the decision was made!
She was very happy!
Back at college with her friend (photo from her mom)
“Her boots weren’t
just leather—they were stitched with starlight, sass, and the spirit of the
open road.”
Here are our two youngest granddaughters starting their first day of school this year. Photo by their mom. Our oldest in in college now, and my next post will show you what we did with her right before she left for college! It was something different for sure.
“The first day of
school is a doorway—painted with hope, creaky with nerves, and wide enough to
let dreams tiptoe through.”
In Wal-Mart the other day, I almost ran into this.
It was travelling at a considerable speed, and had NO driver! We came close to having a wreck twice. Does this thing have a license?
But that's nothing compared to the robot at our favorite grocery store. It SEES you and acts accordingly! His job seems to be spotting spills and messes and summoning a cleaner.
This one does follow some sort of traffic rules. Although it seems to like following me and also blocking where I need to go. It's name is Marty.
The next time you go grocery shopping, be sure you are not being watched and followed.
“In aisles of light
and barcode dreams, my robot hums beside me, chasing deals and digital gleams.”
We are back home and the catheterization went very well. The doctors found that Phil's scan showed his heart was way worse than it actually was! So no stents needed!!
I want to thank each and every one of you so much for your prayers and wonderful comments! They really helped to calm me down, and they worked!
Something else that I saw as a sign of hope was this rainbow shortly before we left.
Many months ago, I spotted this rainbow on the kitchen counter!
I saw the lovely
arch
Of Rainbow span
the sky,
The gold sun
burning
As the rain swept
by.

I will not be here this weekend, starting Fridy. Phil is going into the hospital for a heart catheterization. He has two narrowings in the main artery to his heart, so he may need two stents. Your prayers are really appreciated!
I was not able to comment on these two blogs today...
“My Shasta Home” and “Beyond The Lone Islands”
I did read them but Google would not let me sign in and comment.
Shasta Home, I am so glad for your good news!
See you when I see you!!
“To an otter, a rock
is more than a tool—it’s a treasure, a toy, a token of affection.”
On the way to the grocery store today, we passed this house.
Pretty cool, huh? Here is more of the house in perspective.
“Characterized by
properties such as hue, brightness and saturation, color holds immense
importance because it has the power to affect our feelings and the way we
perceive our surroundings.”
Colors speak all
languages. ~ Joseph Addison.
Call me funny, but I am interested in people's laundry that is hanging out to dry. Sometimes it is colorful and pretty, sometimes you can tell a bit about them from their clothes. This one, just a few blocks away, spells SUMMER to me!
This one is being guarded by geese.
These people love color.
Also very colorful, and must smell like these lilies growing beside it.
And look what I found online. Clothesline art!! All of these animals are made from hanging clothes!
Here is a poem I have liked for many years. It is very long, so I removed some of the verses.
The Clothes Line
by Marilyn K.
Walker
A clothes
line was a news forecast,
to neighbours passing by.
There were no secrets you could keep,
when clothes were hung to dry.
The line announced a baby's birth,
to folks who lived inside,
As brand new infant clothes,
were hung so carefully with pride.
The ages of the children,
could so readily be known
By watching how the sizes changed,
you'd know how much they'd grown.
It also told when illness struck,
as extra sheets were hung;
Then night-clothes,
and a bathrobe too,
haphazardly were strung.
It said "Gone on vacation now",
when lines hung limp and bare.
It told "We're back!" when full lines sagged,
with not an inch to spare.
But clotheslines now are of the past,
for dryers make work less,
Now what goes on inside a home,
is anybody’s guess.
I am a day late with our calendar! I actually did not get to take it off the wall and change it till today. So, here it is. “October, ...
