Today is a different kind of pumpkin patch. A wooden one! They look like some kind of wooden spools that were painted. I believe they were three for $10.00. Yes, I was tempted to buy one or two. I may yet go back and buy two, they would look good with one on each side of the stoop.
Carved from timber,
smooth and round,
No vines to twist
along the ground.
No rot, no fade, just
autumn’s grace,
In every grain, a
warm embrace.
Wooden pumpkins,
quiet and true—
A rustic ode to skies
of blue.
