October 2nd

I am a day late with our calendar! I actually did not get to take it off the wall and change it till today. So, here it is.

  • “October, baptize me with leaves! Swaddle me in corduroy and nurse me with split pea soup. October, tuck tiny candy bars in my pockets and carve my smile into a thousand pumpkins. O autumn! O teakettle! O grace!”

Such a beautiful choice of words for October. So warm and full of imagery. I can almost feel the crunch of leaves and taste the soup just reading it. A lovely way to welcome the new month.

Beautiful photos. I was just thinking today about the fact that it is about time to enjoy a cup of hot tea each day. I love my coffee, but I look forward to hot tea and I rarely drink it in the summer.

I love your calendar - the muted colors are so regal looking. I love fall too - my favorite season after a brutally hot summer.

I love your calendar page for October, Ginny! And the first thing I thought was how delightful your Header was today. I like everything about it, the charming house, the words, and the white and orange pumpkins. I also appreciate both colors each season. The quote on your calendar is a good one too.

I love, love the poem Ginny. This is just what I needed to read this afternoon. We are enjoying summer temperatures at the moment here in Wisconsin, but the time for corduroy will come soon enough.
Love, Carla
