Almost all the trees are still green. Except for a very few that now have yellow leaves. I especially loved this one. I believe it is a Black Walnut Tree. Many streets here are covered with walnuts!
And of course, everyone's favorite (NOT!) Goldenrod.
“Yellow leaves drift like sunlight
set free—each one a quiet farewell, glowing with grace.”

Things are starting to change up in the mountains, later now than a few years ago. Down here a lot of the trees are past, but one of my favorite parts of autumn is the dry leaves on the ground.
Beautiful and dramatic, Ginny.
Goldenrod might not be very popular but it looks so pretty when you see a field filled with it. It's always a sure sign of fall to me.
We still have more green than color here but it's moving right along
All dressed for fall. Beautiful photos, Ginny!
It's the golden glow of Autumn! It looks so pretty!
Oh wow, our black walnuts are crashing down. They hit the roof pretty hard too. Though the trees got trimmed so should be less. Nuts and magots all over the back area though. LOOOOVE the yellow in your photos!
Yellow always looks better in nature than it does on me! Beautiful.
I agree with you the black walnut tree I love - the goldenrod not so much!
This is just the prettiest of seasons!
Pretty yellow leaves and so is the golden rod. We have a lot of both around here.
You took great photos showing the changing season Ginny :) with the perfect quote.
Yellow was my favorite color when I was younger. Now it's pink. But yellow still stops me at my tracks. Stunning.
I do like the goldenrod. I see it sometimes at the creek where the bushes are covered in yellow. So nice that you are starting to see the change of color in the trees. What a sight that must be to see walnuts gracing the streets. I love to put them in my oatmeal. ; )
