They're Creepy And They're Kooky

Do you recognize my title? It is the first line of the Addams Family theme song. Did any of you ever watch it? It has gotten popular again, with an emphasis on Wednesday (the daughter). There is even Wednesday cereal now.

Anyway, Jazz was in The Addams Family school play last weekend. Of course we were in the front row.

Here is Morticia

Reading a book to Pugsley

Wednesday and her boyfriend

Uncle Fester with some of the cast

And of course, our Jazz

I barely recognized her in all this makeup. She posed for us in her costume after the play. Gosh, she looks 30 years old!

But here she is after changing on the way home. This is more like it!

“Don’t torture yourself, Gomez—that’s my job.”

The transformation for the stage is truly remarkable, and those photos capture the atmosphere of the play perfectly. Jazz looks completely different in her costume and makeup, which is a testament to the hard work put into the production. It is easy to see why she might appear much older while in character, but seeing her as herself on the way home is a nice reminder of the person behind the role.

The Addams Family is such a classic choice for a school play, and the quotes like the one from Morticia always bring a bit of wit to the performance. Being in the front row must have made the experience even more special for the whole family. You are invited to read the latest update on the blog.

I remember the original Addams family from the early days of television. I tried a few episodes of the more recent Wednesday series on Netflix but didn't really fall for that. I'm sure students as well as their families had great fun with that school play, though! :)

I would not have recognized her in her costume and make up. I bet that was a fun night.
I did watch the Adams family back in the day.

Oh, what a costume and make-up can do, Ginny! I do remember watching the Addams Family growing up. Who would have thought it would make such a comeback? Jazz is a beautiful young lady!

Someone did a great job with the costumes and the makeup. I used to watch this show and enjoyed uncle Fester, oh and of course "Hand." Jazz is so pretty, with a beautiful smile. I would have been on the front row too, Ginny...enjoying ever moment of watching her perform. Thanks for sharing...

I immediately recognized the title and then had that song running through my head. :) Hooray for Jazz! She is beautiful, both in and out of costume.

Yes, I did watch the Adams Family and started singing the song when I read your title!

How wonderful to see your grands performing. They looked great in their costumes. I haven't seen the movie and probably won't, but I would enjoy this stage version, especially knowing your granddaughters were in the show. Must have been fun for them and for you to see them there.

I have never watched the Addams Family -- it sounded too creepy for me -- but it must have been great fun to see the play with your granddaughter in it. Again, I'm glad they live so close. ❤️

A delightful nod to The Addams Family and how fitting that Jazz got to bring a bit of Wednesday Addams mischief to life from the front row’s best view.

What fun.
I remember the Addams family. Didn't know it was becoming popular again or about the cereal named after Wendy.

I thought the Addams Family show was so funny. I enjoyed it immensely. For the short time that Audrey and Dagny had a cat a few years ago, they called it Wednesday, hahaha! Jazz had a good time I hope, and yes she did look all grown up in that costume! I hope you and Phil are doing well, Ginny! xoxo

Boy, I loved that show. How cool Jazz loves to act. I always wanted too but never brave enough to do it. Good for her!

Stage make-up can certainly transform a persons looks. I've watched my granddaughters on stage and doesn't it make you feel so proud. These kids are way braver than I ever was at their age.
