Coneflowers

The house down at the corner has a nice patch of Coneflowers, and I like the color. So today I took a picture of them.

Several minutes later, we were in front of Lowes. I saw these white coneflowers. I did not know there were white ones, plus I loved the way the flower heads shone in the sun.

Coneflower is another name for echinacea, a plant with significant medicinal properties. It is believed to be an immune system stimulator, and to ward off infections. The flower itself has a large, circular head with long, thin petals drooping off the sides. Both the herb and the root are used in healing products.

You have such a good eye for catching photos! I keep echinacea in my medicine chest. It really is good for boosting your immune system!

I like the Coneflower too!
It is also called Echinacea and is a genus consisting of nine types of flowering plants in the Asteraceae family.
God has given us so many beautiful flowers!
Have a blessed Sunday!

I have never seen white once before and I think I am liking the white ones better than the red one although I love them all. Coneflowers make me think of ballet dancers. Once I did a post on a coneflower that I turned into a ballet dancer

I would like to experiment with herbal health, but my heart meds (and cardiologust) say it's no-no. So, I'll just enjoy their beauty.

We have pink ones. Have never seen them, in any other colors. Love the white ones.

I like the Coneflowers. They are sturdy and each bloom lasts a fairly long time. Unfortunately i have too much shade to grow them well.

I didn't know there were cone flowers or that they were medicinal! Cool.

Both a beautiful and medicinal flower. I didn't know that the common name was cone flower. I love how much we can learn while blogging.

Hey Ginny. Hope you have been having a wonderful Sunday. I love cone flowers and I had several last year, but for some reason they did not come back this year. It's a beautiful flower and so many different colors to chose from.

I love coneflowers. I didn't realize there were white ones either.

I think I have some echinacea in my garden, though it's being snuffed out by the crush of lilies among other things (Japanese beetles). I never knew they could be white either. Kind of intriguing looking.

Thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment so I could follow you home. A lovely blog you have!
