Independence Day 2020

We are not able to celebrate today, because of the Covid virus. so here are some of our celebrations from the past. Our son experimented with making drawings with the sparklers.

When Anne Marie was little,  she wasn't quite sure about holding that sparkler.

And now, just some fireworks for you.

The flag at sunset

“You have to love a nation that celebrates its independence every July 4, not with a parade of guns, tanks, and soldiers who file by the White House in a show of strength and muscle, but with family picnics where kids throw Frisbees, the potato salad gets iffy, and the flies die from happiness. You may think you have overeaten, but it is patriotism.”

Anne Marie looks scared holding the sparkles. She has grown into a beautiful lady.

*haha* Yes, sparklers are sometimes scary things for children. My Daddy (RIP) used to make me a stick to hold my sparkler. He's get a piece of wood from his workshop and drill a tiny hole in the end... and that's what I'd insert my sparkler into. So basically it extended the end of the sparkler by about 12". Perfect! I wish I had the last sparkler holder my Daddy made me. Happy 4th of July, Ginny. Love, Andrea xoxo

Love these pictures. That is so cool how your son did the drawings with the sparklers. I especially like the star.
I think I remember that picture of Anne Marie. She sure was a cutie and she does look a little unsure of that sparkler.

cute photo of Anne Marie. We are not able to celebrate either. Our kids live out of the city limits, so they can have fireworks, but since we are in the CL, NO fireworks or sparklers here....
