I am teaching the next few Wednesday evening bible studies. And I continue to learn some amazing things that I share with the group. Here are the three most exciting things we learned last night. Do you feel like a pop quiz? I will give you the three questions, see if you can answer. Don’t read ahead if you want to guess. 1. How can God be Immutable and totally unchanging, yet have emotions? 2. Which emotion is worse: anger or jealousy? 3. At the creation, what was spoken into existence, and what was made? If you want to guess, do so now, then go on to these answers.
1. God’s emotions are always entered into voluntarily, unlike ours. God’s emotions never surprise him and they do not control Him. So while He may change in his relationships with us, He never wavers in his nature, purposes, or promises.
2. Proverbs 27:4 “Anger is cruel and fury overwhelming; but who can stand before jealousy?”3. All other creatures were created by God’s word and spoken into existence. Only man was created by God’s work. God formed us and breathed life into us. “The Lord God formed the man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and the man became a living being.” Genesis 2:7
