Heavy

Welcome to the return of The Pumpkin Man! Remember when I showed you the man a few blocks away who grew big pumpkins in his back yard? Well, he has harvested them and moved them to his front yard! Look at how HUGE they are!!

Luckily, he came out of the house when he saw me and my camera; he loves to talk about his pumpkins. The big one in the sling is over 800 pounds. It won first prize at the N.C. County Fair, netting him over a thousand bucks. He built this pulley thing in order to move it. Some of the others are 600 pounds. He belongs to a pumpkin growing club. SO, that is his story! He will be on our T.V. news this week!!

“This Absalom…When he cut his hair—he always cut it short in the spring because it had grown so heavy—the weight of the hair from his head was over two pounds!”

Interesting. We have a Pumpkin Fair in a small town close to where I live and they also have a pumpkin growing contest each year.

I've heard of a green thumb, and he really has one when it comes to pumpkins. I don't think I've ever seen so many huge pumpkins from one patch.

Wow, that is so impressive! I am glad he came out and spoke with you! by the way, I didn't know you were a Mennonite! You'll have to visit that little shop one day!

Hi Ginny, you asked about the yorkie and the cats. He's sitting on top of the artificial log stove, I hope out of harms way.
I wonder what that man feeds those pumpkins on to get them that big?
