Turning Poop Into Power

Remember the game of Jacks? Well, look what I found. A jacks game where the jacks are tiny pigs!

Bur if you think that is strange, you haven't heard anything yet! This is what I read in the paper today. Smithfield Foods (yes, the ham people) and Dominion energy (our power company) announced a joint venture on Tuesday. They will trap methane from hog waste and convert it into power for heating homes and generating electricity! As the headline said, pig poop converted into power.

Would you like to heat your house with energy made from pig poop? I would soon develop an urge to roll around in mud! Not to mention overeating...

“A large herd of pigs was browsing and rooting on a nearby hill. The demons begged him, “Send us to the pigs so we can live in them.” Jesus gave the order. But it was even worse for the pigs than for the man. Crazed, they stampeded over a cliff into the sea and drowned.”
Mark 5

I say, if they can use some natural waste in. productive way, then go for it.

Good grief! Just goes to show you that anything can be redeemed!

it pig poop can be used then probably other poop can also. that would be a good use of it

I say why not. 'WASTE not, want not'!

if you think about it that's sort of like double recycling. The pig recycles the food into poop and the power company recycles the poop into power.

It sounds like a good idea to me. I hope it works.

totally amazing to me, but it sounds like a good way to get rid of all that poop... and here in the USA we NEED OUR POWER... no power, no internet, no cell phones, no food, no computer, no tablets, no TRAFFIC Signals. yowsa. bring on the pig poop

That verse has always troubled me. The poor pigs.

Thanks for your comment on my story. I actually wrote it after reading Dimi's post on Meteora: http://decdimisaussi.blogspot.com/2018/11/meteora-and-monasteries.html
