The Admiral

As I was making breakfast the other day, I looked out the back door and saw this spot.

After zooming in with my camera, I saw it was a Red Admiral Butterfly! Maybe he came for breakfast...

Red Admirals are territorial, they return to the same spot over and over. keep and eye out, he will be back. when I see one, I wait and the next time I go ouside and they sit on my hair, my arm, my white shirt....

What a treat to see that sitting out there. It's very pretty. I rarely see any butterflies and when I do they move way too fast for me to get a picture of them

I don't know if he got his beakfast, but I'm glad he stuck around to get his picture taken.

I saw these at very few times. We had many painted ladies most of the summer.

The Admiral is a beauty. I'm always looking for pretty butterflies. It seems we don't see them nearly as much as we used to.
