Did you know that today is Groundhog Day? Not to take all the fun out of it, but...
There are lots of groundhogs around here. Many locals would sooner shot a groundhog than watch him come out of his burrow. Really. I am not one of them! I enjoy seeing them on the roadside. The local ones are still in hibernation now, and if they do come out early, will be laying low for awhile.
Did you know that during the filming of Groundhog Day, Bill
Murray was bitten by the groundhog twice during shooting. He had to have rabies
shots.

I had no idea about Bill Murray - wow! So fun visiting over here today - hope you will stop by my neck of the woods too. Just became your newest follower...♥
Cute little guys
I don't like rodents in my house but they do look cute in the pictures.
Oh! Sweet baby.
Wait. One of these BIT Bill Murray??
😱
I have never seen one, not even in a zoo. I did not know about the bite while making the movie.. I must say they are cute, I love wild critters and I do fear them biting.
We don't have groundhogs in the UK. They are cute. Why do people shoot them?
God bless.
We have a groundhog burrow under a tree on the golf course behind our house. I just don't want it nibbling on our plants when it wakes up.
No, didn't know that about Bill Murray! I don't mind watching groundhogs, but they can be destructive. Just let one get in a garden or a cemetery.
Didn't know about Bill Murray and rabies shots. Enjoyed Groundhog Day and I think it's time to see it again. Have a happy Sunday!
I like that quote. We are going to have an early spring here! lol It has never been winter yet.
Winter hasn't been bad this year....but snow and ice and COLD is in the forecast for Wednesday.....after a high tomorrow of nearly 80 degrees!!
LOL love those graphics :-) I read it about Bill Murray somewhere before. So scary!
He is so cute, Ginny, I wonder if he saw his shadow!.
Blessings,
Sue
I have only seen a Groundhog once or twice in my life. Either way, around here we can expect at least 6 more weeks of winter.
Isn't it funny how we continue the tradition of asking the groundhog how much longer we have until spring? I had heard about Bill Murray getting bit while filming that movie.
What a chuckle! I had forgotten it was Groundhog Day but did see the Bill Murray Superbowl advertisement. Thanks for the smiles Ginny, great photos and I enjoyed the Maori proverb also.
