Many signs will be on corners to advertise. I especially liked this sign in our neighborhood.

Yard Sales
Around here, yard sales are HUGE! Usually on a Thursday or Friday evening, we will see people putting their wares outside on tables, getting ready. Then, very early in the morning, loads of people begin driving through the neighborhoods looking to shop. On some streets, you can't even find a place to park. By noon most are over.

Light Art
All of these pictures are mistakes I made while snapping. But the mistakes turned into a kind of beauty! This one looks like fiber optic cables to me, bundles of wires.
A stoplight on a rainy night.
I don't remember what this was.
A failed attempt at a Christmas tree. But I like it better than it would have looked if It had turned out well.

Fancy writing, don't you think?
Car lights at night
People are like stained-glass
windows. They sparkle and shine when the sun is out, but when the
darkness sets in their true beauty is revealed only if there is light from
within.

The Hill Tonight
Looking out the kitchen window, the sky looked pretty.so I put the dinner water on the stove to boil, and we drove up to the hill. Dark clouds combined with yellows and pinks were fading fast.

On the way home, I caught sight of the moon high up in the sky.
We often
praise the evening clouds,
And tints so gay and bold,
But seldom think upon our God,
Who tinged these clouds with gold.
And tints so gay and bold,
But seldom think upon our God,
Who tinged these clouds with gold.

Just Grand
I miss our grandchildren. Right now, all we get is the occasional wave at the door or in the yard. But it is for all of our own good, and our good health. This was snapped a few years ago by our daughter-in-law.
This is from last week.
And these are from oh so long ago.
Grandma always made
you feel she had been waiting to see just you all day and now the day was
complete.

The Stargazer
Along with the Tiger Lilies, the Stargazers are also blooming now. I always like seeing the first ones of the season.
·
The Stargazer was first developed in 1978.
·
Ancient Greeks believed white lilies grew from
the milk of Hera, the queen of Greek
deities.

Sunday Sunset
Softly drops the crimson sun:
Softly down from overhead,
Drop the bell-notes, one by one,
Melting in the melting red....

Sharp!
I like taking pictures of Thistles. They have a certain kind of beauty to me, almost primitive. So here are some from this month. Watch out, the thorns are long are SHARP!
Teasels are very prickly too. Though their thorns are not as huge, it would still be painful to walk through a patch.. These are going to seed.

The Cars
We happened to pass a small car show, so we stopped in. We did not mingle with the people, just drove around and took pictures through the window. this car had lights that were changing colors! See the purple, then blue?
This old car has the windshield wiper hooked on from the top. That's the way they used to be. and there was a crank inside to swipe them manually!
This one has big holes in the visor. Wonder if that is just for decoration...
The next two are just cute!
Pretty in pink.

car, punch the buttons on the radio. If all the stations are rock and
roll, there's a good chance the transmission is shot.”
