Every year, this Trumpeting Swan visits the same small pond for a few weeks. He has no mate with him and is all alone.
He came again a few weeks ago. He has a number on him, I don't know how it has stayed on over the years.
It was so cold that you could see him breathing steam out of his beak, see it? He looks so delicate, but must be very strong!
“As the
sound of the trumpet grew louder and louder, Moses spoke and the
voice of God answered him.”
Exodus 19
The
seventh angel sounded his trumpet, and there were loud voices in heaven, which
said: “The kingdom of the world has become the kingdom of our Lord and of his
Messiah, and he will reign for ever and ever.”

Oh how I love scripture!! Thanks Ginny. He certainly is pretty. I guess he has his annual routine of visiting the same spot. God is so good....HE equips us with everything we need and even so with this trumpeting swan! Have a good week....
He is majestic!
I love the verses you shared too.
Ginny, these Swan photos are so lovely. I like the one of him with the frost coming from his beak, but I hope he's not too cold. You can see the sparkles on the water in that one too. Swans are so graceful. I have another blog friend who photos them often at her nearby lake. I like the Bible verses. They are just right for this Trumpeting Swan.
Happy February, Ginny.

**yes, I knew that the Quail makes nests close to the ground, sometimes in shrubs and bushes, but I didn't realize they nest on the ground, interesting. They are definitely ground birds. They fascinate me when I see them in my neighborhood.

Outstanding photos Ginny! I would be over the moon to have this yearly visitor, such an elegant bird.
Beautiful picture!
The swans look so adorable! I do drive 6 hours a day every weekday. Sometimes even 10 hours for a return trip. This is a commitment.
Beautiful photos of the swan. Sad that he is all alone.
Elegant and graceful swan. Hope he will get a mate soon.
I have read that Swan's mate for life so he may have lost his mate. And can't get another one which makes it sad but he is beautiful and a joy to see him.
I wonder if that number means he was part of a research project.
Pity his being alone! But oh so gorgeous! Exceptional images Ginny.
These pictures of the swan are beautiful. It's just too bad that he's all alone.
Ginny, do you think it is the same swan each year? Funny. And then he goes until next year?
So graceful and beautiful.
Hi Ginny, I love swans. Thank you for sharing your special yearly swan visitor with us.
Do swans mate for life? Maybe that is why he/she is alone, the other swan may have passed on.

The swan is definitely a majestic creation, and the scripture passage heralds the coming of even greater majesty. Enjoyed this post!
He's beautiful, but it's sad about the mate. Thank you for the gorgeous pictures.
Swans are such beautiful birds! I love the picture of his breath in the cold!
