Cherry Blossom Festival

Do you know about the yearly Cherry Blossom Festival in Washington D.C.? The trees were a gift to us from Japan. Anyway, decades ago it was mostly a kind of small local thing. But NOW, it is so huge! People from all over the country attend, and it is a big event. So come with me as we watch in on our T.V. and get an idea of what goes on.

But wait, that's not all! There is still the student art, large building projections, and pink tie ball! Those will be my next two posts.

“I have a pretty good memory, but memories are time beings, too, like cherry blossoms or ginkgo leaves; for a while they are beautiful, and then they fade and die.”

wow, I have never even heard about this.. it should have been in the BARBIE all pink movie.. ha ha.. love the piano and the balloons are gorgeous. would love to see the dancers... bring it on, never seen any of this... we never know what is on TV because Bob records what he watches and fast forward through commercials. no TV shows that we like except AGT so only see what is coming up on that channel.

I have heard of this, but never have I seen any photos of the massive array of pink. The Dunkin' Donut truck fits right in and the piano is a fav in these pictures. I also like the horse and buggy...but the hot pink in all of these pictures is sure standing out... We do not have cherry trees in our area. Not sure I've ever seen a cherry tree...

Ginny, I have heard about it - but I have never gone. Have you? And I love pink. It looks like a lot of fun.

I knew about all the cherry trees but didn't know about all the parades and everything.

I did not know this, either.

I never realized they had such a fancy cherry blossom celebration in DC. Nor did I realize cherry blossoms bloomed in June. I thought it was in April.
You got some great pictures.
