A Short July Drive

It is 4th of July week! These photos are just from driving around our neighborhood.

A homemade star.

A  patriotic car ribbon.

A flag of lights on someone's garage door.

A matching mailbox among other items.

A star with a blue bottle tree.

July 1st 2025

It is almost July 1st. So as usual on the first of the month, here is my new calendar page.

Glad All Over

The front yard of a nearby house is full of Gladiola!

Let There Be Light

Meet Bill Craft. He makes lamps from various devices and scavenged items. He had a show here, but by the time we got there, most of them had been sold. So I found these photos on the web and from papers.

Bill's lamps are made from garbage disposals, colanders, strainers, blow torches, erector sets, & gauges. One is even made from an old warhead! The warhead is second from the left.

“A lamp doesn’t rush the dawn—it simply glows with grace through the dark.”

The Weird And the Wonderful

These photos are just from us driving around the neighborhood. We saw both lovely and also weird things.

This moose head was looking at us from the front window! Creepy.

Our next-door neighbor's pretty summer flag.

An indoor Christmas tree in June! Plus lights outside.

I thought this was lovely!

Black cat & Mickey Mouse

This was hanging in someone's porch. Who knows what it is...

It also swivels around.

A life-size lamb

It's okay to keep a broken oven in your yard as long as you call it art.

Mush

We came out of the house last week, and were surprised to see all these mushrooms in the side yard!

Some had holes in the top.

Fast forward a few days, and they had all flattened out. Looking very different.

And some still had holes in the top.

"There are more than 10,000 types of mushrooms in North America; some are edible, others are not so friendly."

A Skyline Ablaze

Snapping from our T.V., I thought these were the best fireworks. What you see in the background is the New York Skyline. Just about as pret...
