A Mexican Barbie Kind Of Place

Can you see my reflection taking this photo through the glass door?

So why am I here? There is a fairly new place in town. A Mexican ice-cream parlour!

So let's go inside, shall we? From what I can see, it looks more like a Barbie ice-cream parlour!

Here's a closeup of the roses behind this pink throne.

The chairs were kind of kid sized as well. I did not try to sit in one for fear of needing a crane to remove me. Here is Phil patiently waiting for me to stop snapping and come to my senses.

No, I did certainly not try this swinging chair either.

Do you see the giant ice-cream bars sticking out of the wall? Here is a closeup of some.

A cute donkey to hold various items. They also sold cute mugs and other items.

No, I did not try any of the ice-cream. But it still looks more like Barbie than Mexico though.

A gnome in a sombrero twirls with delight,

Churro cone clutched in the soft summer night.

Ducks sip horchata from striped paper cups,

While frogs play maracas near candy-filled trucks.

Each scoop a story, each swirl a dream—

Of tamarind laughter and dulce de leche gleam.

I wonder what the clientele will be like? They put a lot of thought and effort into it, so I wish them well. Thank you for the tour!

Now I'm curious as to what the difference is between regular ice cream and Mexican ice cream. That does kind of look like a Barbie kind of place.

The place has a very special design and colour pallet

It's very cute! And so is Phil, patiently waiting. Bob is often seen in that same waiting mode while I take pictures. :)
I wonder if the ice cream is any different?

Oh, what a *darling* place. I don't think I could have resisted buying a scoop in a cup anyway. They have Mexican ice cream bars at Walmart & I buy them from time to time. I've never had any but Dan loves them. I don't know what makes Mexican ice cream different than regular but he says they're delicious. Next time try some & let us know. Love, Andrea xoxo

Mexican ice cream is closer to gelato, more dense than regular ice cream and creamier.
Interesting place I’m just not attracted to that much pink and cutesy but much more in the ice cream. 🍨

I like that - funny - we had one open around us. Wonder if they are coming to cities everywhere.

Most definitely a hang out for die-hard Barbie fans! Loved your whimsical poem, too, Ginny. Blessings!

What a delightful place, and I came over right away when I saw your "Barbie" title. ; ) The pink table and chairs is so quaint, and I love those ice cream bar stick-outs. This would be a fun place to take kids for an after school treat. I don't think I've had Mexican ice cream before.

**Ginny, it wasn't easy getting the hummer. A couple of them swarmed around the feeder, but like you said, they move so fast, and they don't stay for long. One finally stayed for a moment or so, and then I clicked. Some pics were good, some were not. That was probably the best one. ; )

That is sure a unique ice cream store. See what you mean about it being a Barbie one though. I'd like to try that swinging chair! :)

It does look very quaint and Barbie-like, and now I know where you took the picture you used as your banner a couple of posts back.
Did Phil taste the ice cream? I would not have been able to resist.
Love the poem. Did you write it?
