This is a restaurant across from the University Of Virginia campus. It is in a row of college shops and eating places. Unique exterior for sure. I'm guessing it is in the steampunk style. But it still gives you no clue what kind of food they serve!
“Steampunk sculpture
is the poetry of metal—where gears whisper, brass breathes, and imagination
welds the past to the fantastical.”
Top hats tilt to
twilight’s glow,
As cog and canvas
start to flow.
In every rivet, rust,
and spark—
Steampunk paints the
past with dark

Wow Ginny, this is very unique!!! I like the poem as well. You find and share the most fascinating things. Thanks.
That’s a fascinating exterior for sure. Enjoyed the poem too.
I had never heard of steampunk before!
Equal parts curiosity and charm, like a menu written in riddles and gears.
Intriguing look to the outside. I would want to go in to find out what they served. I like that poem
I wouldn't want steampunk in my home, but I do enjoy it in places like restaurants!
This is very different and I can only guess that it is used for decorating purposes on the outside....maybe the inside has a mechanical design.
I always enjoy what you share with us Ginny!
I never understood "steampunk" style either. They have a lot of it in artwork kits too. I personally think it's uglier than heck....but what do I know? Not much! Love, Andrea xoxo
I actually like steampunk designs in design and decorating as well as in young women’s clothing although I would look ridiculous at my age. I looked it up : steampunk blends Victorian-era elegance with industrial elements and a touch of retro-futuristic fantasy.
Ginny - I learned a new word today. I had never heard of it before - interesting.
Steampunk is a new word on me, too, Ginny, but loved the photos and your poem. Ages ago, I attended UVA for several semesters. What an awesome campus!
I never really understood the term Steampunk. My oldest granddaughter did some photo modeling and dressed in the steampunk style. I like the definition and the poem. Thanks for that.
Sue
That is different. Have not heard of it before.
