The Trip

Today we had to go over Afton Mountain for a doctor appointment. We have to do this quite frequently. It's about 30 minutes away. We saw some strange sights. We had to drive SO slowly behind this house that was being transported.

Finally able to pass it, it was pretty big. Even had an air conditioner unit on it.

Next was this weird sight.

I did like this colorful truck encouraging people to adopt pets.

OY, it's rutting season for the deer! This road can be littered with dead deer by the shoulder. It is scary to drive here in the fall, as so many people hit the deer as they come racing across the highway.

We passed this strange item on the median in the center of the road.

Ah, finally at the parking garage, where the rafters are covered with these stickers! Maybe inspection notices?

Here is the tunnel we walk through that connects the two hospital buildings across the street.

And finally, the famous Blue Ridge Mountain overlook on the way.

“Driving over the mountains is like flipping through nature’s storybook—each peak a plot twist, each valley a whispered secret.”

Dear Ginny, that is quite a large house being transported! I love the truck with the dog, encouraging people to adopt!
Great post, dear friend. And you have a talent for changing your blog header!

Sounds tiring to have to travel far for regular appointments. You're very good at using your camera to focus on other things along the way, though! :) ♥

So many interesting things to see on the drive. Nice that you could pass the time by getting pictures. Love that view of the Blue Ridge Mountains.

I like that quote about driving in the mountains, landscapes are always changing and I rather view them than TRAFFIC even though you did find a lot of interesting things. I am wondering what that THING is in the middle of the road, poor deer

You certainly did see some unusual things! Glad you made it there and back safely. We have a lot of deer around here too and I hate driving in dusk and dark, for fear of them running out in front of me.

I love the header - almost doesn't look real. I can see why they are called the Blue Ridge Mtns. We have a lot of deer (dead) too - so sad. You do make your trips fun.

Hands down, you get the most unique and unusual photos, Ginny. And driving through the Blue Ridge Mountains couldn't provide better scenery. You are blessed to live where you do. Blessings!

Crazy stuff but be careful with all of those deer.
Love your banner too.
