Frozen Peppermint Hot Chocolate

Yes, you heard me right. Frozen Peppermint Hot Chocolate. It is a Starbucks coffee drink. But they are only available at the Starbucks that are inside Targets. Go figure. It is divine. Just a tip in case you will be in Target this winter.

Santa Cow & Cat Claus

The Big Cow and the Big Cat are ready for Christmas!

The Cow even has a white beard, but it is hard to see with the wind blowing it.

The Cat is not impressed by a lot of adornment and preferred to make a more simple statement.

This is across the street from the Cow

“A cow’s slow heartbeat and a cat’s soft paws create their own quiet music.”

Sunday Sunset - Thru The window

It looked like it was a beautiful sunset. But it was so cold that I did not want to go outside. So I settled on watching from the window. Not as good as outside on a hill, but still worth a look.

Having a bit of fun with it.

The Great Outdoors

Here are the Christmas decorations in the neighborhood that are pretty in the daytime. Later I will post the nighttime lighted ones.

This house decorated their windmill.

I thought this one was strange

And Chik-Fil-A had a cow instead of a tree.

“Outdoor decorations turn neighborhoods into storybooks, each house a chapter of holiday cheer.”

The Angels

For the last few years, I have been posting The Appalachian Angels at Christmas time. They are in front of The Appalachian Christian School.

Each angel represents a student who has passed away, with their family's name on it. The angels span at least two blocks. So I am thinking these represent the students all of the Appalachian Schools, not just this one school.

This one has a tiny wreath atop it's head.

“And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.”

Festival Part 2 - The Crafts

Now that we have seen the poinsettias, lets go into the other room and look at the craft vendors. First came the wreaths.

These were full of calming herbal scents for babies.

Animal dish scrubbers?

Cute little plant pot huggers

Then there was this booth that specialized in putting decor in unusual containers.

In a little suitcase. I loved this one and would have bought it. But it cost $30.00!

In a bucket

In milk cans

But this is what I bought. Because I liked it. I can keep it out all winter, and it was only $6.00.

It's much smaller than you would think. It fits in the palm of my hand.

The Poinsettia & Craft Festival - Part 1

Every year, our garden center has a large poinsettia and craft festival. There are a lot of crafters who set up their booths, and of course plenty of poinsettias. Today is part one, the poinsettias. My next post will show you the crafts and what I bought.

“Among evergreens and snow, poinsettias shine as the garden’s holiday lanterns.”
