The Rainbow Goddesses

I thought the color of these Iris was so pretty!

The Greek word îris literally translates to rainbow

In Greek mythology, Iris was the goddess of the rainbow. She traveled on arcs of color, carrying messages on the wind — which is why the flower feels so airy and magical.

The doctor's office had this modernistic painting of Iris.

There was also this other painting beside it in the same style.

“An iris is a rainbow learning to stand still.”

That is a pretty color on the first one. I don't think I've ever seen any like those.
Interesting Greek mythology. I had never heard that.

It’s nice to learn that we have the Greek goddess, Iris, to thank for these beautiful spring blooms which are always so colorful.

I did not know this, I like the art of the iris a lot, but do prefer the real thing... did you know gopher turtles eat flowers? ha ha, something I learned on my last adventure

The golden Iris' are pretty, and even prettier standing tall with the sunshine hitting them. I like that third photo a lot with the sun coming through. Iris is a popular flower in this time. They look like the flower of the fairies. : )
