Hair Art

This lady's name is Latetita Ky. I saw her on the news, and took these pictures while it was on T.V. She makes hair sculptures.

She also holds the record for jump roping with a long cord of her own hair; 60 jumps in 30 seconds. She does admit that the jump rope hair is extensions, as I suppose all these other creations are as well. So would you still consider this her own hair? Anyway, she still has an unusual talent!

I think my favorite is this last one. What about you?

When she got him to sleep, his head on her lap, she motioned to a man to cut off the seven braids of his hair. Immediately he began to grow weak. His strength drained from him.

Giant Candy

O.K., truth time. How many of you couldn't wait to read this because it has the word "candy" in the title? Do you love candy, and if so, do you give in to your cravings? What is your favorite candy?  This candy is GIANT! The Kit Kat bar was bigger than a placemat.

The Snickers is probably over a foot long.

And the Dum Dum Pops are about the size of a baseball.

Did I buy any? No. But I may have if there was a Hershey Bar, Milky Way, or York Mints. Can you imagine the stomach ache you would get?

Candy is sugar that's all dressed up for the party.

Sunday Sunset

This sunset is from last night. Seems there is only a beautiful sunset when I am not watching for it.

The sky, a perfect empty canvas, offers clouds nonetheless.  They shift and drift and beg interpretation... such is the nature of art.

Butterfly Girl

We were driving down the highway, and I saw this.

Of course we had to turn around and see what was going on.

And just in case you were expecting a REAL butterfly, I snapped this one for you and put him in my header. He is even a fall color!

What the caterpillar calls the end of the world, the master calls a butterfly.

In The Waiting Room

My last doctor appointment was actually fun. Because this was the other patient sitting in the corner. He had brought his little dog with him, too. He even obliged me by waving at the camera.

They were even BOTH wearing masks. It wouldn't have been polite to ask him the reason for his appointment. But I think it was for some kind of bone problem.

Too bad I didn't have any dog treats in my purse. He was so good, and never barked once.

Rock On

Today I saw on the local news about this artist who stacks towers of rocks. He uses no glue or wires, only balance. These two pics from the web show them.

He had made several of these just a few miles away, so we went to see them. But when we got there, look what we found! Hooligans had knocked them all down!!

Even despite this sign that says they are works of art and not to touch, or they will fall down!

Before we left, Phil had said that kids would have knocked them down by now. And he was right. WHY did they not lock them in plexiglass cases??

At least the moon was beautiful. Half a moon is better than none; too bad there were not even half the rocks left stacked.

The Stand

The first pumpkin stand of the season is open! This one is my favorite because of the wall of pumpkins. It's in a really pretty locatio...
