The Containers

These are some unusual planting containers I have seen.

These next ones are all in front of a local barber shop.

“…we can’t round up enough containers to hold everything God generously pours into our lives through the Holy Spirit!”

The Vases

We saw these vases at a Dale Chihuly show in Richmond. I knew that he made enormous glass objects, so these small vases were a delightful surprise. It looks like his theme was putting one inside the other. Kind of a vase for a vase.

“Jesus took Peter, James, and John and led them up a high mountain. His appearance changed from the inside out, right before their eyes. His clothes shimmered, glistening white, whiter than any bleach could make them.

Eye Of The Tiger

The Tiger Lilies are blooming! Well, not in our yard, but all around town. I love them.

“You can tame a tiger, but you can’t tame a tongue—it’s never been done.”

The Thunder

So, here is the full moon completely risen, in the order I took the pictures. You can see there were some clouds.. This July full moon is called the Thunder Moon.

There were blooming thistles nearby.

Also visible this month is Saturn! Of course, every planet I snap looks like a pizza. A friend said it's because I'm always hungry. And of course I could not capture the rings.

I don't have a tripod, so this was holding my breath.

“God thunders across the waters, Brilliant, his voice and his face, streaming brightness…”
Psalm 29

The Glow

The Full Thunder Moon rose this month. And we were there! Here is the glow as it began rising! There were clouds in front of it, as you can see.

On my next post, I will show you the complete full moon. Plus another heavenly body that is visible this month, high up in the sky!

“And those who put others on the right path to life will glow like stars forever.”

Through The Wires Thursday

Driving this evening, the sunset was beautiful, even through the wires. This is highway 250.

I lift up my eyes to the hills.
From where does my help come?
My help comes from the Lord,
    who made heaven and earth.

The Fireworks!

I think the fireworks this year were the best ever! First, here are the ones we set off in the front yard.

These are the ones the city set off the next night. We got so close that we could hear them sizzle as they burned up. It sounded like frying ham!

“From the dazzle of Zion, God blazes into view. Our God makes his entrance, he’s not shy in his coming. Starbursts of fireworks precede him.”

Psalm 50

Fourth Of July 2017

Welcome to our Fourth Of July celebration! It rained a lot this week, so we had to wait till Friday to celebrate.

We ordered pizza, and here is just some of the other food I had.

This year was really special, because Anne Marie is now old enough to light the fireworks herself! You can see how happy she was!

After we ate, fireflies were caught, then released.

Then Anne Marie got some practice with the fuses by starting out with smoke bombs, her dad helping.

Then the lighting started! Jazz seems a tad nervous, but not for long.

Glow sticks came out.

Back in the kitchen, a few more pictures before we all dispersed and went to bed.

But what about the actual fireworks? Well, it seems I have run out of time, so you will see them on my next post!

“This will be a memorial day for you; you will celebrate it as a festival to God down through the generations, a fixed festival celebration to be observed always.”
