Leadings

Hi everyone! Well, this only works if you know the Beatles song "Baby, You Can Drive My Car". I just couldn't resist making up my own words to the tune of this old song. So without further ado, here goes:

Beep beep, beep beep, yeah!
The lab tech came in just to stick me
And he said "Patient, can't you see,
this is the Cadillac of beds
so you can drive, plus take your meds!"

Nurses you can drive my bed!
I'm so glad that I'm not dead.
Nurses you can drive my bed
And nurses I love you.

This bed's engine just purrs along.
And it is really very strong.
Things are not always what they seem.
It takes the curves just like a dream.

Nurses you can drive my bed!
I'll keep looking straight ahead.
Nurses you can drive my bed.
And nurses I love you!
Beep beep, yeah!

Now I know you are wondering what on earth this is all about, so I will tell you. When the lab guy came in to stick me, he asked me if I knew how special my bed was. I didn't. The bed is really a car. It has an engine on it so that it can be driven down the halls, and it slows on turns. No more heavy pushing of those big beds anymore, will wonders ever cease? Being led around was never easier!

"The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not be in want.
He makes me lie down in green pastures,
He leads me beside quiet waters,
He restores my soul.
He guides me in paths of righteousness for his name's sake.
Even though I walk
through the valley of the shadow of death
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
Your rod and your staff, they comfort me."
Psalm 23:1,4

What next? The beds in the hospital here are very nice, but I am sure they don't drive.Unfortunately,no matter how good the bed, home is always better than the hospital.take care my friend, and get back to good health.

Love it, you clever girl. And his story totally relaxed you before he stuck you. Right?? LOL

Ha Ha----I've heard it all now... Neither George nor I have EVER heard of such a thing.... My My---I dare say that our little hospital here in the boonies in TN won't have beds like that.... Holy Cow---for some reason that just made me laugh and laugh....

Next thing we know, the doctors and nurses will all have an engine on them --so that they can be driven from room to room.... ha ha ha

Great job on those lyrics! Those modern pieces of equipment just make my jaw drop! I do recall the beds of the 60s and these modern ones are unbelievable. Just good to hear you're feeling better!

So glad you are better and at least at home. What a LOT of glass... glad our weather wasn't as bad as in the midwest. Take care of yourself, follow the directions of the doctors and rest!!

Love your lyrics Ginny, I was reading them along with the music in my head. A drivable bed? What will they think of next?

If enough of the patients find out how to work those beds I wonder if they will have races?
"Coming around the third hallway turn, it's Ginny in the lead ....."

I don't even remember that song and I thought I was a pretty good Beatle fan. Now I gotta go to Youtube to find that song.

must have been a special hospital, our hospitals here have the old fashioned ugly and very miserable to lay in beds. the mattress are killer, the chairs in the rooms are horrible for people with bad backs. this bed looks really cool. glad you had it. so now you are a song writer. Well Bless your heart... ha ha on that one. dont know the song so could not sing, but love the words and no one would want me to sing it anyway unless they wanted to torture someone. ha ha
sooooo happy you are bacccccccccccck in the saddle again. i do know that tune.

I am surprised by all the nice, new stuff that is in hospitals now :)

When I was a child growing up in the hospital, beds were simple affairs. Now I know why a short stay in one can lead to a five- or six-figure bill :)

Glad you're home, and glad you're on your way back to good health. Praying for you...

Maybe I can get one of those fancy beds to cruise around Walmart on?

God bless you Ginny and have a great Memorial Day weekend :-)

Don't know the original lyrics but yours are great ;) I hope they aren't thinking they'll be able to tell patients to drive their own bed to the lab or whatever... (LOL) When I was in hospital for surgery five years ago, when they took me back to the ward from post-op, I had to tell them to drive slowly because I was getting nauseous when they ran too fast!

Hi Ginny, Well, you are quite the creative gal. I too love the 23rd. Psalm. Great post today! Enjoy the evening and have a super Sunday. You continue in my prayers.

I so love your song, Now I will be hummin' that the rest of the day.

I can just see it now...beds you can drive...patients will be flying down the hall...one more thing for the admins to buy for the hospitals.... traffic lights and horns for the beds.

I so hope you are feeling better.

Sunday Sunset

I snapped these from the Target parking lot. The sun had just gone down, but the trees were hiding the very bottom part of the sunset. Life...
