In my last post, I promised to show you the house with the life saver and basket bird feeders, and here it is. It is a big corner house a few blocks from us, and quite lovely. It's all in the little details, and here are some of the things in the yard and porch. It looks like a huge, loving family lives here, doesn't it? But this house has an access door on each side, and has been divided up into apartments. I found this rather sad, and I don't know why. But the yard and porch are so cohesive, one would never know that more than one family lives here. I love the sign by the door; "Relax, you're home". I could go for that. Lemonade, anyone?
"I will rescue the lame and gather those who have been scattered. I will give the praise and honor in every land where they were put to shame. At that time I will gather you; at that time I will bring you home."

You will have to send Phil round one more time to ask more personal questions! ;) I would say it takes an awful lot of work to create a relaxing atmosphere - so good for them if they are many to share the work as well as the joyous result.
That is a beautiful house, I am just amazed at that pretty yard. If I were going to live in an apartment one like this would be my first choice because of the homey feel.
What a beautiful house... i jus love the greenery n flowers around it !!
It's a grand home and very inviting.
It's beautiful and I love the details that you've shown. So much of work and love must have gone into the planters...and it shows! i like the sign too!
Beautiful! And I love the sign.
Last evening on our walk, I sent Gary up to knock on a door of a home that has an attic fan that he had questions about. There was no answer... Hey, I figured if Phil can do it... Gary can too. lol.
I love this sign, Relax, you're home. Today is my last day of working out of the home and I'm thinking this sign is just what I need for my 'new beginning'.
Have a beautiful Thursday, Ginny.
What a cute house!
With all that beauty and detail on the outside,I can imagine that these apartments are not your typical places.Yes,I would like to live there.
I agree, Ginny, that its rather sad to see these lovely old places turned into apartments. There's one less than a block from us that is a two flat. Family lives downstairs and the upstairs renter has been there forty years. I guess that makes her like family!!
Love that clock on the porch!
Best,
Bonnie
I LOVE the house and it is sad it is apartments now. and all the things on the porch are lovely, but it would drive me crazy to live there, it is way to cluttered. overkill is what it is to me. it needs to be decluttered for my taste.
each and every item is beautiful by itself. they yard is really pretty and it is so well kept which is odd for apartments. i am thinking the owner may live in one of the apartments since it is so manicured and perfect.
When I was first married we lived in apts. That is one apt I sure would have liked to live. I bet the inside is as nice as the outside.
Love that phrase - almost makes one take a deep breath and RELAX!! Such a pretty house and so well manicured. Keeping everything looking good is certainly a LOT of work. Like Sandra, this is too much for me personally, but everyone has different tastes. I'd love to sit on that porch though!!
I'm glad the house has been re-purposed as apartments rather than allowed to become derelict!
It sure is well-cared for. Beautiful. I'd rather see it housing several small family-units if there isn't a huge single family living there. You're right: it should have lots of people around - always. The bike gives some promise of action.
Re your mushroom question: No, I'm too "picky" to pick my own mushrooms!!
Best,
Bonnie
What a beautiful home! I understand why you feel sad about it being apartments...I would just expect a big happy family to live there.
That is a lovely house and I agree it's sad that it's been split into apartments. I love that front porch. I've always wanted a huge covered front porch so I could sit out on a warm evening or when it' raining.
Hi Ginny, Perhaps this used to be a boarding house at some point in its history. My grandparents had a similar-looking home in Los Angeles where they had upstairs rooms accessible through a separate doorway. The porch is grand on your neighbor's home! Excellent post! Have a great evening and a wonderful day tomorrow!
This is so beautiful! A lot of work watering all the time though, but well worth it!
Yes, Mary Kay does give away Pink Cadillacs and all kinds of cars now. To get a Pink Cadillac you have to have a lot of Mary Kay reps under you but my director has one and a lot of women do have them. It's a full time job for them though and well worth it. They are very pretty cars if you like that sort of thing, like me :)

What a beautiful house...and I am loving all the different bird feeders. Not to mention the scriptures you have put with them. God bless!
I would never guess it is an apartment house, Ginny, but it is beautifully maintained so that is all that counts. Keeping a big house like this for only one family can be very expensive! Just imagine the heating bills!
Well if you know me - and you do - I think that house is T - terrific!
Love it and think you are lucky to see all that eye candy every day.
That house is so pretty and inviting! I love the Bible verse you chose. Its beautiful. Blessings, Joanne
Those flowers are so beautiful. I sure would like a porch like that!
That is a beautiful house, looks well loved, cared for and inviting! Thank you for sharing the scripture as well.
looks like the owner has replanted the hanging pots. The "husk" exterior looks very new.
The bed was at a public information centre in the mountain range. The "simple" bed is for tired feet, no blankets. It was quite long, and I sat on it for a while.
I think this woman loves the Gardeners Supply Company... most of the hanging baskets and even that copper whirly thing is in the catalogue.
