It seems that most of the moons are named by the Indian tribes. This one is the Full Sturgeon Moon because this large fish was most often caught during this month. It is also called the Green Corn Moon, Grain Moon, and Full Red Moon. A red moon makes me think of this passage in Acts 2:20. I will be taking my computer break this Monday as usual, so see you Tuesday!
"The sun will be turned to darkness and the moon to blood
before the coming of the great and glorious day of the Lord.
And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved"

It is amazing that we both can see this wonderful sight in different parts of the universe. ;)
Love that verse! Have a great Monday off!
That is one amazing photo of GOD's gift to us to light the night. YOU sure to keep us informed and we learn a great deal from you.
See you Tuesday.
The moon is really round, Ginny! Great captures! How far your camera can go... its a wonder.. have a nice weekend!
I love that verse. When the moon is that color it feels really freaky to me as well as when its is huge in the sky!
Blessings, Joanne
Oh Ginny, you got some great shots of the moon. Here it kept hiding behind our trees. I saw some tiny green corn ears today so that name really fits. Enjoy your Monday break.
Ginny, just to clarify, The Granddaughters orthodontist rented the ice skating rink for 2 hours and had family night for all of his patients and their families. It was an annual thank you he has done for the last 14 years.
Pretty awesome. Everyone had a tremendous time.
Enjoy your time off.
beautiful pictures Ginny. I love the full moon.
simply gorgeous, Ginny. amazing shots, this one today and yesterday. Remington was out there shooting the same moon as you and yours is orange and his is yellow. i just got out of the pool at 4 am and the moon was so bright, i could see the bottom of the pool almost like daylight. have a happy monday.
did i ever tell you my son Daniel was supposed to be Ginny? i went to the hospital with that name and woke up to a Daniel not a Ginny
Beautiful moon.I had to get up last night and noticed how bright it was outside. The light of that moon lit the night.
Wonderful shots of the moon. I went out and tried to get some last night but they didn't come out so well
Gorgeous, Ginny. And the little tidbit of name info was very enjoyable.
You've gotten wonderful pictures of the moon, regardless of the name it goes by.
Really nice captures of the moon- I always love to hear your perspective- this was interesting and the verse powerful-
It's kind of sturgeon-colored, isn't it? I guess having the First People name the various moon stages makes sense since they would have seen them first.
Love, love, love your moon shots!
Not sure what you mean about the sitting part on that Mississippi mud cake recipe. You don't have to let it sit at any point. But if you need clarification, just email me!!
Hi Ginny, Very nice moon pictures. I'm wishing you a super day tomorrow!
Love the pictures and verse - have a great Monday vacation!
He shows us glimpses of himself in every stage! Have a great Monday off from blogging and continue to be where He wants you!!! (re your comment on my blog) God bless you, Genny!
Hey Cutie, As I told you, I saw your photos on Facebook... Neat!!!!! Great half moon (in your last post) and full moon pictures... George is trying to get some --but there are too many trees in our area in the way!!!!
Hugs,
Betsy
I always love your pretty moon shots, Ginny! It's been raining here non stop since Saturday evening so I missed seeing this special moon in the sky.
Amazing photos, Ginny!
Thanks for your concern. I am OK - just having a really busy, sometimes-exhausting summer. And when I feel so weary - and my mind seems overloaded, I need His peace.
We had a special speaker at church tonight and he used this Scripture. I thought of the photo of the waves I had taken earlier. There have been times in my life that I've experienced the truth of those verses.
I hope you have a great week ahead! I'll try to get caught up with reading blogs!!
Ginny, those 2 photos are from the same plant. I think it is wild fennel, but I don't use it.
Ginny, your moon shots are spectacular!
What a wonderful sight. Its color is amazing. I loved your verse today. I hope all is well. Blessings...Mary
Great shots and I always enjoy the info you share.
How do you get such nice photos of the moon? I tried taking one the other night. It looked so pretty between the trees and even though I had it on "Night setting" I still got this really big streak (looked like lightning) going right from the moon out into the picture...I was disappointed. The moon was still full and visible this morning around 7 am when I walked Gizzy...
