How Sweet The Smell

"In childhood, we press our nose to the pane, looking out. In memories of childhood, we press our nose to the pane, looking in."
Robert Brault

These pictures of our son and granddaughter were taken three years ago. The header was taken by me, and the two pictures were taken by our daughter-in-law. Remember to take time to stop and smell the flowers. And inhale REALLY deep.

"Apart from God, every activity is merely a passing whiff of insignificance."
Alfred North Whitehead

"For we are to God the aroma of Christ among those who are being saved and those who are perishing."
2 Corinthians 2:15

Thanks for the reminder Ginny! So often we get so caught up in being there on time ~ getting all of our work done ~ etc. etc. and we forget to stop and smell the flowers. Hope you're having a great week!

Lovely photo of the grands! These marigolds and dandelions don't have the best fragrance - for my nose that is - but that marigolds do keep certain bugs away - whether it's the smell or their taste I don't know! I love when they bloom in such abundance in the fall! Gorgeous color!

Watching a child discover the beauty of nature is always beautiful. They take it in with all of their senses. That is a gorgeous header Ginny.

Yes, God has given us a beautiful world to occupy. Getting past the thorns and savoring life around us is savoring what God has given for us to enjoy. Thanks for letting your light shine!

Great post and what a cutie pie you have there. We all need to take time even when times are hard and difficult to just sit and breathe and look at GOD's creations. Even something as simple as a flower can relax us.

We live in a scent-free home (allergies) and I am currently enjoying the roses my neighbor grows. Their scent is heavenly as it drifts through my window. Great quote!

Your photos remind me of how quickly time passes and the little ones are soon grown and gone. Always enjoy the verses you pair with your pictures.

Hi Ginny, Lovely shots! I have a couple of Marigolds in my front yard in with the vegetables in a small raised bed garden plot. The flowers are pretty and help with warding off a few types of insects. Have a super nice evening and a great day tomorrow!

Beautiful photos, Ginny! After the earthquake and now waiting for a hurricane to pass I am reminded even more not to take an "ordinary day" for granted and be thankful for all my blessings!

Our daughter is starting to babysit...and done has her first one...a four year old. I just told Roger that Lorelei is really going to change being around an older kid four days a week. I don't know if I am happy or sad...maybe a little of both.

Love the picture of your son and granddaughter. Your son looks just like Phil. I have always said that, "stop and smell the roses". When my son was a little boy, he would tell me, "mommy you spend so much time stopping for the roses, you will forget where you are going". Out of mouth of babes. He knew me so well. I am a dreamer and when I have my camera in my hand, I can loose all sense of time. Still, I wish more people did take time to enjoy the simple beauty around us, to just even stop and "see" it instead of always rushing toward some future goal they have to reach. Just my thoughts of course. Blessings, Lynn
