Thanks for the reminder Ginny! So often we get so caught up in being there on time ~ getting all of our work done ~ etc. etc. and we forget to stop and smell the flowers. Hope you're having a great week!

Lovely photo of the grands! These marigolds and dandelions don't have the best fragrance - for my nose that is - but that marigolds do keep certain bugs away - whether it's the smell or their taste I don't know! I love when they bloom in such abundance in the fall! Gorgeous color!

Great post and what a cutie pie you have there. We all need to take time even when times are hard and difficult to just sit and breathe and look at GOD's creations. Even something as simple as a flower can relax us.
We live in a scent-free home (allergies) and I am currently enjoying the roses my neighbor grows. Their scent is heavenly as it drifts through my window. Great quote!

Hi Ginny, Lovely shots! I have a couple of Marigolds in my front yard in with the vegetables in a small raised bed garden plot. The flowers are pretty and help with warding off a few types of insects. Have a super nice evening and a great day tomorrow!

Our daughter is starting to babysit...and done has her first one...a four year old. I just told Roger that Lorelei is really going to change being around an older kid four days a week. I don't know if I am happy or sad...maybe a little of both.
Love the picture of your son and granddaughter. Your son looks just like Phil. I have always said that, "stop and smell the roses". When my son was a little boy, he would tell me, "mommy you spend so much time stopping for the roses, you will forget where you are going". Out of mouth of babes. He knew me so well. I am a dreamer and when I have my camera in my hand, I can loose all sense of time. Still, I wish more people did take time to enjoy the simple beauty around us, to just even stop and "see" it instead of always rushing toward some future goal they have to reach.
