Many Images, One Moon

There is something haunting in the light of the moon; it has all the dispassionateness of a disembodied soul, and something of its inconceivable mystery.  ~Joseph Conrad

Tonight is the full moon, namely the Full Snow Moon. And of course the name is because of the snow we usually get in this month. I went out and waited for it to rise, and all these pictures were taken within a half hour! Hard to believe the moon can show us such different faces in such a short time. The black streaks are clouds in front of the moon, it was very cloudy today. Speaking of snow, we are to get sleet, ice, snow and rain in a few hours! School will likely be cancelled and Ella will be here, so I will be taking the day off of the computer to be with her. See you on Wednesday!

“No one can mistake that voice— His word thundering so wondrously, his mighty acts staggering our understanding. He orders the snow, ‘Blanket the earth!’ and the rain, ‘Soak the whole countryside!’ No one can escape the weather—it’s there. And no one can escape from God.”
Job 37

You are a terrific Skywatcher as usual. I think my favourite is the last white moon resting on the cloud. Oh no. Not more sleet and snow... Hope it doesnt get too bad.

We drove to the beach last night in hopes of getting the moon in photos as it came up above the horizon, no go...by the time we got there, the cloud bank had blocked the view. There is always next month. Maybe tonight...who knows.

I LOVE your photos Ginny. Always a pleasure to visit with you.

Ginny - that was just one half hour - that was beautiful how many changes it did - hey did you get a lot of snow this year?

i see all the snow and 7 counties in GA school is closed because of flooding from so much rain the rivers are out of their banks. hope you have a good day and don't have to go out in all that ice and snow. the moons are all beautiful in their own way. i like the two that look like they are melting. the thing about calling it a Snow moon, is we don't have snow here, so how can it be called that and it is the same moon, i am calling ours the sand moon...

The fascinating moon but on several days. I find it very difficult to shoot good moon pictures.

My MOON-Photography friend.... You didn't disappoint!!!! I think you have posted almost every Full Moon we have had this past year. You need to do a post sometime showing one photo from each Full Moon.. Wouldn't that be GREAT?

Thanks, Ginny.
Hugs,
Betsy

I caught just a glimpse of it last night before the clouds rolled in. I knew I could count of you for some great captures of it Ginny.

I hope your weather doesn't get too nasty. Stay warm and safe.

You did a great job capturing the Full Moon in all its glory, Ginny! I didn't get a shot of it last night because we were in the midst of a snow storm. Glad to see your beautiful shots!
