School Buses

Chase down your passion like it's the last bus of the night. ~Terri Guillemets

Lots of people want to ride with you in the limo, but what you want is someone who will take the bus with you when the limo breaks down.

School is in now, and the buses are everywhere. And one day were were in the car with Ella when an empty school bus passed us. Ella saw it, and with a look of horror on her face she screamed "Ginny, there are NO children on the bus!!" I told her not to worry, they had all been dropped off at home.  On the same subject, I have been wondering why there have been so many school buses on the road all summer. Then I found out the answer...Summer School! One blessing of being my age is that I do not have to go to school any more, only to pick up the girls and play with then afterward!

“I’ll be their God, they’ll be my people. They won’t go to school to learn about me, or buy a book called God in Five Easy Lessons. They’ll all get to know me firsthand, the little and the big, the small and the great. They’ll get to know me by being kindly forgiven, with the slate of their sins forever wiped clean.”
Hebrews 8

School started here last week and traffic has doubled in town! It's my favorite time of year though...I look at fall as a new beginning!

Yes, our school days are over. Although I don't mind taking an interesting class in something new now and then.

My hubby is twice retired, once from newspaper work and most recently after 10 years driving a school bus for our local district.

We are both enjoying his retirement!

...it's that time of year again. Seems just a day or two ago, it was summer break.

Great captures Ginny

i love ALL your bus shots, but the last is my favorite. that is so cool. and i am thankful i have no dealings with school buses except for when we get stuck behind one. we have to deal with city bus and school bus and that can be frustrating.

I wouldn't mind being in college, but would not want to go through elementary or high school again....

Since I lived in a rural area while growing up, I rode the school bus every day to school. Well, except for the first 6 years when I attended a country school near our home. I remember a lot of fun times riding the bus, as well as a few scary times when the bus slid off the road in wintry weather! Great photos, Ginny! It's hard to believe that school has started already...where did the summer go?

School started this week as well in Montreal.

Even though neither my children nor me ever road a school bus, I love seeing them and their precious cargo.
Great photos!

Best,
Bonnie

I am very happy that I don't have to go to school any more! Your bus photos are fun and lovely. I like the bus in last photo very much!

We don't have "special" school buses like yours. There are of course buses that take children to school if they live far enough from school but they are the same kind and colour as other buses (and probably used for other routes in between).

Our schools have been in session for a couple of weeks now, so we've become accustomed to seeing many buses on the roads. I rode a school bus until I went to college. I have no desire to experience that again.

Hi Ginny, I have been friends with two school bus drivers. School bus drivers have a hard job and are really patient skilled folks for the most part. Nice pictures of all the various busses and display ads. Have a wonderful day!

It's hard to believe it's time for school to start again. I think I misplaced part of summer. I really like that cute little bus in your last photo Ginny.

School just started here today and I had the pleasure of getting behind a bus after work. It stopped at every house all the way up the road.
It may have changed but back when my kids were in school if your kids went to summer school you had to provide transportation for them they didn't run the buses

Hi Ginny, you have an amazing ability to see God in everything. It is true He is everywhere and in everything, but most of the time we get too busy and involved in our life, to see Him. Thank you for reminding us, or me. You're a dear sweet lady. I love your friendship and treasure it like gold.
Have a lovely week,
Your blogging sister, Connie :)

Only you could make poetry out of school buses. Nicely done.

School starts Tuesday in my speck of the world. I am sure the kids are enjoying this three day weekend before the routine starts. Lots of buses and they slow the traffic down around here which is not a bad thing.

Love that quote!! School buses around here will be back on the roads on Tuesday morning! Never did have to take one - walked to school - even in Winnipeg winters! My folks didn't own a car until I got married.
