An Intruder

These are Canadian Geese in their field. Each evening they line up and wait an hour or so until the exact moment the sun sets, then the leader gives the signal and they take off, honking encouragement to each other.
But someone else shares this field, too. The remote controlled glider group, of which Phil is a member. And this evening Phil has come to fly his plane.
Well, of course this really upsets the geese, resulting in a premature flight that is hurried and flustered.
Can you see Phil's plane that I highlighted, it is right behind the poor geese...
I watched as they flew into the blue mountains...
And finally formed a hurried V, honking all the while. Sorry to take over your field, buddies!
A flock of geese leave their lake and take wing, turning to poems in the sky.  ~Dr. SunWolf

“Was it through your know-how that the hawk learned to fly, soaring effortlessly on thermal updrafts? Did you command the eagle’s flight, and teach her to build her nest in the heights, Perfectly at home on the high cliff face, invulnerable on pinnacle and crag?”

How spectacular Ginny.

Loved this....the whole entire series.

I don't know if you 'do memes' or not, but you should really consider adding your link to this post at the Bird D'Pot!!! It's marvelous.

how funny that they follow a routine like that. Poor things could not have been happy about the intrusion.
I love the first shot with the golden color and the picture you used for your header is so pretty

The plane must look like an odd goos to the rest of the Canada Geese.

Haha, the plane in the air looks like it is trying to join the geese :-) These are such beautiful pictures. I especially love the photos of the geese in golden field, and them flying in blue mountains and pink sky. Such lovely scenery!

Hi Ginny, Makes me miss "My" Canada Geese from when I lived back up in TN. Your pictures are great, especially the ones showing the flock in flight. Have a wonderful coming week!

Okay those shots with the goldesh background - did it really look like that or was that Photoshop? Those were just AMAZING!

HI Ginny Stunning golden shots. Just a pity humans have to disturb nature. Is there not another field people could use without the geese in it?

Beautiful. I used to work at a college that had a lake, and those geese would take over and poop everywhere! They got a special type of dog to come in and chase them off - it worked!

I love that header photo! The golden colors are absolutely gorgeous and to see the geese is something special for this gal. We don't get to see them often. You sure do have some beautiful country around you....
thanks for sharing.

I love to watch the Canada geese at the local parks, they make me smile.
They don't seem to want to share their field. LOL!
