I have finally discovered the name of our mystery bush!! Well, it was actually Phil who did it! This morning, he suggested that we pull a branch off and take it into the Garden Center! Brilliant! Why didn't I think of that? Anyway, it is a Crimson Beauty Polygonum Cuspidatum. And the blooms turn white before they turn this wonderful raspberry color.

what is going to happen in the days ahead.”

Oh wonderful! What a great idea I will have to remember that.
Great idea. Glad you finally figured out what it was
I knew it was a Polygonum as I have a very invasive weed like it in the garden but I could not find the red variety on the web. Indeed mine has the white flowers but I have .never seen the red. Glad you solved the mystery
Oh yay, Phil! What a smart idea. Glad you solved mystery!
It's interesting they turn white and then raspberry color. It must look gorgeous in white, too!

So glad you found out the name...I have still never heard of it and wonder if it goes by any other name.
It has pretty blooms! such a simple solution and no one thought of it until Phil. :)
Gorgeous! My Husband handles our garden and he dove in full force by researching plants and flowers...needless to say I should have shown him this he might have come up with the answer... Me on the other hand would just say "Pretty!"
Blessings, Joanne
yay! phil is a genius!
Glad you've got the name now. Almost as complicated as Nebuchadnezzar. Lol
Good for Phil, now we all have the answer. It looks like what I have heard called Mexican Bamboo. Beautiful plant.
