The Mystery Is Solved!

I have finally discovered the name of our mystery bush!! Well, it was actually Phil who did it! This morning, he suggested that we pull a branch off and take it into the Garden Center! Brilliant! Why didn't I think of that?  Anyway, it is a Crimson Beauty Polygonum Cuspidatum. And the blooms turn white before they turn this wonderful raspberry color.

“But there is a God in heaven who solves mysteries, and he has solved this one. He is letting King Nebuchadnezzar in on what is going to happen in the days ahead.”

I knew it was a Polygonum as I have a very invasive weed like it in the garden but I could not find the red variety on the web. Indeed mine has the white flowers but I have .never seen the red. Glad you solved the mystery

Gorgeous! My Husband handles our garden and he dove in full force by researching plants and flowers...needless to say I should have shown him this he might have come up with the answer... Me on the other hand would just say "Pretty!"

Blessings, Joanne

Glad you've got the name now. Almost as complicated as Nebuchadnezzar. Lol

Good for Phil, now we all have the answer. It looks like what I have heard called Mexican Bamboo. Beautiful plant.
