The News

We had business at the newspaper office right before Christmas. They had a big, beautifully decorated Christmas tree in their front window. As I looked at all the paper chains on it, I saw they had print on them. I asked the receptionist if they used the newspapers. She told me that she put all the chains together herself. She had tried the newspapers, but they were too thin and they tore. So she used the pages from old books. She cut out all the pieces to each chain. I was amazed! Now THAT is big news!

How clever! I remember making those as a child out of multi colored craft paper. We would hang them all around the edge of the ceiling and add balloons.

Ginny, the paper chain is a very clever idea. We used to do that in school but I never thought of doing it for the Christmas tree. Interesting...hope I can remember this for this year's Christmas.

HI Ginny How very creative. Now wouldn't it fun to use only 1 book's print and have everyone try to work our what book the chains were from.

That is a pretty tree. I remember making the paper chains out of construction paper when we were in school. Ours never looked quite so pretty hanging on anything though :)

Now that is a clever idea! We used to do those paper chains out of colorful shiny paper when the boys were little.

Best,
Bonnie

the tree looks great and that chains is perfect. all the links are exactly the same. i once did a 4 foot tree in my kitchen with all home made ornaments. the chains i made out of magazines were big links, little links, a real mess not perfect. i love glittering dangling ornaments.

That sure is a news. It would have been cool if she could use newspaper for newspaper office tree. But she found great alternative! At school, I made this kind of paper chain a lot. It's been a while since I saw it :-)

That is very original and definitely a conversational piece of art for the tree.
Happy New Year Dear Ginny.
