My 100 Year Old Granddaughter

This is a statue in front of a library. I love how the old couple are reading together with their cat.

It was 100 Year Old Day in school, and the kids had to come to school dressed as 100 year olds. Here is how Anne Marie looked. Funny thing is, the little bag and knitting stuff are actually hers!

Several years ago, Ella borrowed my cane and showed me what old people look like. It turned out to be one of my favorite photos ever!

“When you are old and grey and full of sleep,
And nodding by the fire, take down this book,
And slowly read, and dream of the soft look
Your eyes had once, and of their shadows deep;”
Excerpt from “When You Are Old” - W. B. Yeats
“Even to your old age and gray hairs I am he, I am he who will sustain you. I have made you and I will carry you; I will sustain you and I will rescue you.”
Isaiah 46

Darling!!! She did a wonderful job creating herself at that age.

Sweet image of the little one depicting an old lady. Comical to see her eyes squinting...I do that a lot these days. LOL

Loved the excerpt!!

She is a cute 100 year old!! Our school celebrated this last week. They each had to wear a shirt with a 100 somethings on it. Mylee's shirt had a 100 rhinestones on it, shaped into a heart. She plans to wear it again for Valentines...This is a neat thing that the schools do.

Oh my goodness...I love that!! I knew a 90some year old lady once that went out into the back yard one day and sat in her lawn chair with the cat curled in her lap. She died that way. When the people found her, the cat was still curled up. That's how I want to die.

HA---recently, I have felt like Ella looks in that cute photo... BUT--my knee is getting better GRADUALLY.

Love the sculpture of the older couple. I didn't even notice the cat until you mentioned it... Neat!

Cute picture of Anne Marie...

Hugs,
Betsy

I just love the statue of the old couple, but even though Tom is 75 and I am 69 I can't think of us as an old couple somehow, is everyone like that I wonder..

So darling! I love her outfit and the one of Ella is just as cute! I was just thinking today that I hope when I'm old and have lost lots of things that are precious to me that I'll just have my eyes on Jesus and my heart set on turning others towards Him!

The old couple statue looks so loving. Your grand daughters in the 100 year old make up..they are really so cute. Anne Marie looks like a sweet, adorable, dainty old lady. Little Ella can act so well, squinting her eyes, the way she holds the cane and see how she place her feet. I give her full marks!

Well, let's hope we look like Anne Marie when we reach 100... To be honest, I think Ella portrays the old people's posture better! :)

What fun! I wish my boys' school did that. Anne Marie has grace even at 100.

Dear Ginny, Anne Marie is adorable. My daughter used to crochet too when she was little. She made little blankets for her dolls.
Ella looks adorable too.
Have a beautiful day and keep safe and warm. Blessings, xoxo Catherine

Loved the photos and the Yeats. A 100 year day sounds like a novel way to get children to think about differences then and now.

Sunday Sunset

I snapped these from the Target parking lot. The sun had just gone down, but the trees were hiding the very bottom part of the sunset. Life...
