Duke University, Here We Come!

We are going to doctors almost all the time now. Each doctor sends us to other doctors. We have seen six so far, with return trips to each and many biopsies. Finally, the last one said that the hospital does not have the right equipment to do such a rare surgery. They have sent us to Duke University. Apparently, this is where Phil will get the best surgery and where the experts are. We are driving down for a conference with the surgeon on Wednesday, and then the surgeries will be scheduled. Duke is a very long trip, but we have friends and family to help. I have gotten sick with some kind of bug and have been in the E.R. Going to my own doctor today, I have to get well fast! Thanks for all your comments, patience, and prayers!! I love and miss you all. It has been a long and winding road for us, filled with many surprises.
We spent part of the day with Anne Marie awhile back, and for one day we were able to just forget everything. Here is a picture of us just taken a few days ago. My header is on one of our many medical trips, returning at twilight.

Best of luck with all the doctors and the tests, and take it easy on yourself, you need to stay well through these trying times.

Oh dear...but, if this is what it takes, then....god willing....things will improve quickly. Remember, he holds you both in his hands, and that is what counts.

Was/is your ailment having to do with all the stress?!!

I'm sure Ann Marie brightened your day a lot.

What a stressful situation you are going through. I trust all this going from one doctor to another will be worthwhile. Looks like the first one would have sent you to Duke. Sometimes, I get frustrated with the doctors. They are not truly interested in us old folks. You cannot find one that wants a senior citizen. May you find the inner strength to carry on.

I'm sorry you had to go to E.R. I hope you are feeling much better.
It's great Phil will get the best surgery at university hospital. It must be very stressful to make so many medical trips. But I'm sure things will get better!
Great to see a lovely photo of you and Anne Marie. Take care xoxo
