Circles Stitched By Loving Hands

In the nearly 100-degree heat, in front of the cheese shop, sat an old man. In front of him were racks of homemade things, including these wreaths. 4th of July wreaths!

I only got two photos because the man was sitting right THERE. So I had to be sneaky. This one was my favorite, as it could be left up all spring and summer.

Wreath of the Fourth

Upon the door it proudly stands, A circle stitched by loving hands. With stripes of courage, stars of light, It whispers tales of freedom’s fight.

So let it hang in summer’s breeze, A pledge beneath the swaying trees. Not just décor, but something more— A silent cheer for what we’re for.

The wreaths feel more like symbols than decorations. I’m so glad you shared this

it’s the little things that say so much

How interesting. I hope he sold some of them. Now I'm curious about whether he makes them or if maybe his wife makes them and he takes them out to sell.

I read Anns comment and I am wondering if someone pays him to sit there because they don't want to. nice poem you found to go perfectly with the wreathes.

So much time went into making these homemade wreaths. I love how creative some people are. Yes, the red one is cute, with farm fresh eggs. That poem is a very nice too.

My mind was going everywhere with this....I thought perhaps his wife has physical difficulties so she works on these projects and then he goes out to sell them. Or, is this extra income for them to be able to live. I do hope he sold them all...
