Puffed Up

The lines on the road were laid down by big trucks. They were pre-treating the road with chemicals for yesterday's snow. And sure enough...

The birds in our lilac bush were all puffed up to keep warm in the icy cold. None were more puffy than this White Throated Sparrow.

I caught this House Finch eating snow off the branches.

I suppose this will kill the new buds on the forsythia.

But despite all the freezing snow, there was still a gorgeous sunset! Too bad I could not get out of the house to snap it.

i am totally shocked at the answer to the lines, never heard of anything like that, of course now i wonder if the chemicals are doing anything they should not.. your birds are beyond cute. adorable, precious, sweet are the words that come to mind.

Oh dear Ginny! Winter won't seem to let go and yet spring is coming when I see the lovely yellow forsythia blossoms!

That’s what lines are for! And oh it looks cold!
Puffed up birds are so adorable. I hope they stay as warm as possible. Also hoping winter will leave already- no snow here, but so cold!

Those are very nice shots of the birds. Sorry about the snow. I know there are lots of people who are so wanting winter to be over.

Interesting to hear what those lines were for. I love those snowy scenes and the birds add a special touch, especially that bright House Finch.

Snow in March! We had it too. It was nice as we knew it wouldn't last long. I hope the birdies understand that too!
