What are these people taking pictures of? Cedar Trees!
A few years ago, we went to a place that had many very old Cedar trees. They are frequently mentioned in the bible, and were used to build King Solomon's temple. Cedarwood oil was one of the first ingredients used in perfume, and the ancient Egyptians used it in embalming.
Have you seen any cedar trees?
“God’s trees are
well-watered— the Lebanon cedars
he planted. Birds build their nests in those trees; look—the stork at home in
the treetop.”
Psalm 104

Cedars are amazing trees! I have cedar essential oil in my diffuser.....
Amazing! Haven't seen a real cedar tree and this is the closest. Just look at all those patterns on the trunk!
I've never seen a cedar tree. I have a cedar lined chest and I love the smell of the wood. Amazing looking tree.
I remember cypress and juniper in Georgia but I can't remember cedars. I still remember the smell of Mother's cedar chest and Bible stories about the cedars of Lebanon.
you already know how much I love trees, all trees and cedars are at the top of the love list. dead like these are the beautiful foliage they have. these are amazing, I love all the designs and holes.. LOVE the header shot.... my grandmother had cedar chifforobe, I used to open it just to smell it
That is a beautiful tree! I use cedar granule as natural bug repellent. It smells nice, too :-)
I've seen cedar trees, but never one quite this large. This one is fascinating.
I'll have to smell cedar somewhere - not sure I would recognize the smell. The tree trunk are interesting as well. sandie
Looks like these trees have the most interesting bark patterns.
We have lots and lots of cedars around here. While I love looking at the cedar trees.....I don't have to get very close to them before my allergies start showing up and this means....Back away from the cedars!
Quite amazing trees. I am always looking at the patterns and barks on tree trunks. These are great and how interesting about how the oils were made into perfume and used for embalming. I have read how there might be cures for various diseases in the Amazon Forest, one of the many reasons scientists want to stop all the deforestation down there.
