Two Yards

There are two yards close to us that have the same color of hibiscus out front. I couldn't resist a few shots, especially since the sun was out.

The hibiscus is the state flower of Hawaii and the national flower of Malaysia. It is presented as a welcome gift to visiting state officials and tourists, in the form of a lei. Women also wear the bloom behind ears.

Traditionally, hibiscus flowers represent delicate beauty, unity and peace. The hibiscus has five petals that each represent a different quality and come together to represent ultimate peace.

“The Father is with me. I’ve told you all this so that trusting me, you will be unshakable and assured, deeply at peace. In this godless world you will continue to experience difficulties. But take heart! I’ve conquered the world.”

I did not know all that about the hibiscus. I just thought it was a pretty flower. I planted one a few years ago but apparently, it was a tropical one instead of the hardy version so it didn't last a second year.

this one is a beauty, kind of like ours but not. I love the color. I can tell you that the blooms are full of ants and if you bring inside or want one behind your ear, they need to be washed and remove the ants first. I wonder if these have ants like ours or is that a florida thing

Goodness, you took gorgeous pictures Ginny. That last photo of the close-up, love the detail. The petals always remind me of a delicate crepe paper. The hibiscus is one of my favorite flowers and I enjoyed all the information you gave. Always love learning these things.

I love those gorgeous flowers.

I love that passage in John - it is wonderful to know that someone who spent time with Jesus - he was so sure of what he was saying - that he too was willing to die for him.
