Fog On The Mountain

We live down in a little valley surrounded by the Blue Ridge Mountains. To get to the nearest big city, where most of our doctors and a lot of attractions are, we have to go over Afton Mountain. The frequent fog gets so bad that they installed fog lights in the ground, and have neon signs warning "Fog On Mountain-Drive Carefully".  This first one is from today, down in the valley and looking up.

In the old days, the driver would let the passenger walk outside the open car door with a flashlight on the road! Here are some more foggy shots.

This fog was light pink!

“Because God is the best, High King over all the gods. In one hand he holds deep caves and caverns, in the other hand grasps the high mountains.
Psalm 95

The foggy view of the mountains is beautiful. I like the one with the lights on and also the one with light pink fog. Have a wonderful weekend!

the fog looks like icing on the mountain... that is a big mountain to travel up and over and back to go to doctors.... you have so much beauty surrounding you.. pastoral views, mountain views and all the houses who decorate.

You live in such a beautiful area. Traveling over a mountain to get to everything sounds like quite a journey. Love the pink fog.
I'm imainging having to walk alongside a car with a flashlight to get through the fog. That had to have been rather dangerous.

Amazing photos, especially the pink fog. We get dense fog some mornings near the Ohio River.

Stunning views, love these photos Ginny. I know it can be dangerous especially on a busy road, but one of my fondest memories was walking down a country lane with hubby early one morning. The mist just swirled and we saw a deer run across the road and disappear. Enjoy your weekend. Looks like a lot of rain heading for us.

Okay - it is gorgeous - no wonder you have Heavenly shots. Are you saying you have to go over the mountains and through the fog to get to the doctors each and every time? How long of a drive is it? Scary!

Sunday Sunset

I snapped these from the Target parking lot. The sun had just gone down, but the trees were hiding the very bottom part of the sunset. Life...
