Yikes, Ginny. Hope whatever happened that the person/persons are okay.
Hopefully the guardrail saved the person.
I've seen ones that look like that after they've been hit.
Damage like this to the guard rail makes me wonder about WHAT damage was done with what damaged it in the first place.
We often see guard rails like this around here. We can't help but wonder what happened and is the driver okay.
I have no idea what in the world could have happened - kids? And is it aqua?
someone hit it and wow, what a hit to curl it like that. our fried at the Y, his son hit a guard rail while on a motorcyle. it cut both legs off just below the knees and threw then out on the interstate. don't know what it did to the rail
A few weeks ago we were driving on a freeway service drive and saw a car try to cut over two lanes and ended up going through the guardrail and hitting a fence right beyond! Good thing the fence was there or he would have gone right onto the freeway!
That doesn't look like a good scenario .
Since it is curled like that, looks like it was bent back after the accident to get the guard rail out of the way.
Wow - that is really curled up!
I think Happyone has it right. The curl was to get it out of the way but guardrails are both good and dangerous. Thankful for them and Andy Stanley's thoughts on guard rails got me thinking too.

Oh my. That must have been a terrible accident.
