Burning For You

Here is one of my favorite Christmas gifts. See how this candle is all lit up? Yet the wick is not burning!

This is called a candle warming lamp. There is a special bulb in it and you put a candle under the shade. The bulb melts the wax.

Since the wick is not lit, there is no ash. When you are done, the wax hardens again, making the candle last a lot longer than if the wick had been lit. And it still smells just as good. You can buy these lamps in many different styles and colors. Amazon has dozens of different kinds.

Since the wick isn't lit, the candle lasts longer, providing you with extended enjoyment. Plus, they come in a variety of styles and colors, adding a touch of elegance to your space.

I got one of those for Christmas also. The style is different but it's the same type of thing. I haven't used mine yet. Maybe I'll do that when I get home from work today.

this is totally awesome, I might buy myself a gift, but I am wondering if they make unscented candles, I can't burn scented. Does the lamp burn by itself?

I couldn't see any point to this lamp at all, until I understood it must be for scented candles... Like Sandra I never buy anything scented, that just triggers my asthma and allergies. And using electricity to melt an unscented candle makes absolutely no sense!

I love the glow. I can't use scented candles in my house, but it would be nice to have candles last longer.

That’s fascinating Ginny. I have never seen anything like this before. It’s very pretty!

I have not seen one like that. I am trying to think if we have a lampshade in the house - lol. What I like it that it is not a fire hazard.

WOW, that is nice Ginny. Does it plug in or is it battery powered?

My daughter got me one of those for my last birthday. I love it and use it all the time. Someone told me that you are supposed to pour the melted wax off of the candle after you use it to preserve the scent. I usually don't though.

This is so cool. Have never heard of these before. I love the fact that you can still smell the scent. And I guess the candle warming lamp comes with it? The design is neat too. What a unique and thoughtful gift, Ginny.

Oh I really like that. Never have seen one. I will look into getting one.

The Bird

Another unusual Christmas gift I got was this bird. It is very pretty just as it is, but it is a light!  Not only that, but you can make it...
