The Crepes

The Crepe Myrtles around here are not doing well this year. I snapped these because I love the color. All the rest are very scrawny and don't look healthy! Maybe it's the near 100 degree heat.

"In the blaze of summer, crepe myrtle stands—graceful, resilient, and quietly bold."

This flowering tree has long symbolized beauty, endurance, and transformation, especially in Southern culture where it's affectionately called the “lilac of the South”

Beautiful photos, Ginny. My favourite is the second to last one.

Despite the tough summer heat, the vibrant color of those Crepe Myrtles shines as a beautiful reminder of their enduring spirit and southern charm.
