The Crepe Myrtles around here are not doing well this year. I snapped these because I love the color. All the rest are very scrawny and don't look healthy! Maybe it's the near 100 degree heat.
"In the blaze of
summer, crepe myrtle stands—graceful, resilient, and quietly bold."
This flowering tree
has long symbolized beauty, endurance, and transformation, especially in
Southern culture where it's affectionately called the “lilac of the South”

Beautiful photos, Ginny. My favourite is the second to last one.
Your header took my breathe away!
Despite the tough summer heat, the vibrant color of those Crepe Myrtles shines as a beautiful reminder of their enduring spirit and southern charm.
Those are really pretty. I like the color too. Those sure add delightful curb appeal to that house
They look beautiful in your photos. We have some flowers that are not doing well this year as well. I think the change in the weather has effected how we will be gardening. The dryer and hotter conditions just don't support many of our typical garden plants and trees. I will be looking for different ways to garden without using so much water in the future.
I love Crepe Myrtles and they don't grow here, so I enjoy seeing yours! Our landscapes are having a hard time in this hot dry weather too.
Wow...they are really in full bloom. The red ones are my favorite but I do enjoy all of the blooms of the crepe myrtles. They add so much beauty to our Summers
I'm sure it does have a lot to do with the intense heat, Ginny, but your photos are still beautiful. I love crepe myrtles!
