Azaleas - The Reds

The azalea bushes were beautiful this year. I think the reds may be my favorite, because they are so brilliant and vibrant. Do you have a favorite one here?

Mulch Ladybug

It's good to find a use for leftovers. And I am guessing that is what these people did when they had mulch left over. What a great idea, I was totally enchanted.

Four O'Clocks

 What is this peeking through our porch fence?

It is our Four O' Clocks! We have lived in this house 33 years, And the Four O'Clocks were here when we came. Huge bushes of them. They come up regularly every year. You might say as regular as clockwork.They are called Four O'Clocks because that is about the time they open up. But in reality it is the temperature that makes them open. They like late in the day when it is cooler. So they will not open in the high heat.

August Moon

Truthfully, I did not take these pictures THIS August. They were perhaps last August. But what better time to post them?

Pig Man

A couple weeks ago, we were in the tiny town of Middlebrook. It is so small that the post office and the library are in the same building!

                                     We passed their General Store. It was built in 1901.

Sitting right in front of the store was my new friend. Pig Man!

He wore his  floppy hat and gloves, and he was ready to do some gardening. Of course he wore sunglasses to protect his little piggy eyes. He watched everyone who passed by.

He was an impressive pig, and the best part of our trip. You just never know what you'll find in small towns.

Hibiscus - The Yellows

Around here, most of the hibiscus are red, pink,and white. So when I see a sunny yellow one, I always take a picture. I love them! Yellow represents the promise of a positive future!

Pie Face

Just what is going on here? Well, the kids are at our house and we are playing Pie Face, This game slings whipped cream on your forehead if you spin the wrong number. You never know who will get it! I think this is the most fun game we have ever played. Shrieks of joy the entire time. You have to provide the whipped cream, and the game provides the fun.
